Given the multitude of joyful wedding celebrations which have occurred at the Savile it is ironic that two of the Downton Abbey characters destined not to wed had their prophetic meeting on our ballroom, transformed by the programme’s brilliant designers into London’s illustrious Embassy Club.
The Club has been used as a location for many popular television series including The Inspector Lynley Mysteries, Hercule Poirot, Campion and many more. Documentaries filmed here include Jenny Bond’s production on ‘The Royals, and ‘D Day to Berlin. The rooms are used regularly for ‘shoots by magazines such as Hello and Homes and Gardens. A recent cover of the Radio Times featuring Martine McCutcheon, was photographed by Lord Litchfield in the Ballroom.
