SAVILE SCIENCE – DR JAMES FOX ON THE WORLD ACCORDING TO COLOUR. CHAIRED BY SAVILIAN ANAND SAGGAR.

What is colour? What does it mean? What does science reveal, and not reveal, about it? In this talk, Cambridge art historian and BBC broadcaster James Fox explores the extraordinary history of colour, from the Big Bang to the environmental crisis. Diving deep into the colours of black, red, yellow, blue, white, purple and green, he’ll range across the world and through time, to explore the physics, chemistry, biology, geology and neuroscience of this most brilliant and mysterious of subjects.

Dr James Fox is a Cambridge art historian and BAFTA-nominated, multi-award-winning broadcaster. Fox specialises is Director of Studies in History of Art at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, Director of Education at the Jeffrey Rubinoff Sculpture Park, and the Creative Director of Marchmont House. He is perhaps most famous for his broadcast work, having presented many arts documentaries for the BBC.
