Lily Owens is probably one of the luckiest as well as one of the most talented flautists of her generation – and she has not yet even entered a conservatoire. Many Savilians contributed to the purchase of her principal instrument, the ‘Savile Club – David Ganderton’ Levit silver flute, which has a James Galway level of tone and power. Now, a gift by Jenny Malone-Lee in memory of her husband James, has enabled Cherubim to buy top of the range piccolo for Lily & a bottom of the range alto flute to complete the trifecta that she needs.
Come and enjoy this celebration of the instruments, Jenny Malone-Lee, the Savile donors, and Lily’s future as she performs a programme with her accompanist Jack Campbell that includes Steve Reiche’s virtuosic Vermont Counterpoint where she performs live on three flutes accompanied by her own prerecorded tracks of this minimalist masterpiece.
