HIGH DAYS AND HOLIDAYS – FOUR STAGES IN THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE SAVILE: A PERAMBULATION OVER 150 YEARS FROM TRAFALGAR SQUARE (SPRING GARDENS) TO BROOK STREET – BY WAY OF SAVILE ROW AND PICCADILLY, WITH A SEQUENCE OF PIT STOPS!

As part of the club’s 150th anniversary celebrations, we retrace the locations – from its establishment as the New Club, and then to its eponymous house in Savile Row.  We assemble for coffee, courtesy of the Travellers Club, followed by Bucks Fizz at Buck’s Club, and a quick one at the Cavalry and Guards Club, and finally for lunch at 69 Brook Street where we will celebrate the 150 years of membership clocked up by Gavin Henderson, Jeremy Hornsby and Michael Peacock – each elected on the same day in 1968.

A specially composed fanfare, by Savilian Julian Anderson, will be trumpeted at each location.

Numbers for the Perambulation will be strictly limited – and thus members only.  For the lunch back at Brook Street we should be able to accommodate guests and the ‘overflow’.

It will be in order to cheat through the Perambulation and take taxis at own initiative.
