POWER AND GLORY – ELIZABETH II AND THE REBIRTH OF ROYALTY. ALEXANDER LARMAN IN CONVERSATION WITH BRICE STRATFORD.

Alexander Larman is a historian, author and journalist who most recently visited the Savile in 2023 to discuss The Windsors at War with Nick Thomas. He writes and broadcasts regularly about the Royal Family – in both contemporary and historical incarnations – and his third and final book in the so-called “Windsors trilogy” will be published by Weidenfeld & Nicolson in spring 2024. It takes the story from VE Day right up to the Coronation in 1953 and deals with everything from Princess Elizabeth’s marriage to Prince Philip to George VI’s declining health and the machinations of his brother, the Duke of Windsor.

Brice Stratford – As a historian and folklorist, Brice’s research has focused on theatre, architecture, folk performance, intangible cultural heritage, aristocracy and the New Forest. Alongside writing for various periodicals, he has authored two books on British mythology (New Forest Myths & Folklore, and Anglo-Saxon Myths: The Struggle for the Seven Kingdoms). His third, exploring the folklore, history and traditions of Halloween, will be published in October this year.
