Eltham Lodge has been, since 1923, the Clubhouse of the Royal Blackheath Golf Club.  This book is not about golf – even though the author is himself a Past Captain of that ancient Club.  Instead it tells, for the first time, the story of this 1663 building that has a unique place in English architecture: of the Shaw family for whom it was built and of the evolution from Royal hunting park to Royal Golf Course.

John’s Fellow Savilian (and Blackheath denizen) Patrick Kidd will be introducing the book in conversation with John, who will thereafter be signing copies of the book.
