In these cynical times, Booker prize winning novelist Howard Jacobson has turned his hand to romance. Well, romance in the context of adultery… complete with a cameo from the Savile!

On this special evening, Howard is interviewed by Savilian Jake Wallis Simons, Editor of the Jewish Chronicle, Sunday Telegraph columnist and author of five books himself, including four novels. They will discuss Howard’s sparkling latest novel, What Will Survive of Us.

Howard Jacobson is a novelist, broadcaster and former academic. The author of 16 novels and five works of non-fiction, he won the Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Award in 2000 for The Mighty Walzer and again in 2013 for Zoo Time. In 2010, he won the Booker Prize for The Finkler Question; he was also shortlisted for the prize in 2014 for J. His latest novel, What Will Survive of Us, was described by the Guardian as a “novel about love and sex, about men and women, from the leading specialist in his field, but which by its end has matured into something more subtle and melancholy than expected”, Howard is also a columnist for the Jewish Chronicle.

Jake Wallis Simons is Editor of the Jewish Chronicle, a Sunday Telegraph columnist, a writer for the Spectator and a broadcaster for Sky News. A former foreign correspondent, he is the author of four novels. He has also written a work of non-fiction, Israelophobia: The newest version of the oldest hatred and what to do about it, which came out in September and was named as the Telegraph book of the year.
